Reaction to the massacre in Gaza from Istanbul Bar Association No. 2! Their banner made a significant impact on the march.

A reaction to Israel, which has been bombing everywhere in the Gaza Strip since October 7, killing tens of thousands of innocent civilians, regardless of schools, hospitals or refugee camps, came from Istanbul 2nd Bar Association. Lawyers who walked to Sultanahmet Square with their robes on the weekend started a signature campaign titled "Stop Genocide!" and made a press statement. Deputy Minister of Justice Hurşit Yıldırım also supported the lawyers' march.

PROTEST TO ISRAEL FROM LAWYERS WEARING ROBES

Lawyers gathered in Beyazıt Square, wearing their robes, carrying banners and posters with the writings "Down with the genociders, long live the children", "Let the lawyers, not the genociders, write history", "Israel, the mother killer", "We see it, let the world see it too", and chanting slogans such as "Killer Israel, get out of Palestine".

"HUMAN DIGNITY IS ALSO BEING MASSACRED ALONG WITH BABIES"

Speaking at a press conference in front of the Hagia Sophia Mosque, Istanbul 2nd Bar Association President Yasin Şamlı said that Israel's attacks are killing not only women and babies, but also human dignity, conscience, humanitarian values, morality, and law in Gaza.

"70% OF THE VICTIMS ARE WOMEN AND CHILDREN"

Şamlı, emphasizing that there is not a war but barbarism, brutality, and genocide in Gaza, drew attention to the fact that more than 38,000 people, including 21,000 children, have been killed by Israel since October 7, and more than 70% of the victims are women and children, and more than 50% are only children.

Şamlı stated that this genocide, which aims to completely annihilate the Palestinian people along with children and women, continues to increase day by day, and that this mentality is not only a danger and threat to Palestinians, but also to all humanity.

THEY COMPLAINED TO INTERNATIONAL AUTHORITIES ABOUT ISRAEL

Şamlı explained their efforts by saying, "Children, women, civilians, innocent people are being killed with weapons of mass destruction in Gaza. Genocide is being committed by bombing marketplaces, places of worship, schools, hospitals, ambulances, and refugee camps. Defenseless people who are forced to leave their homes are being killed with bombs. As Istanbul 2nd Bar Association, we applied to the International Criminal Court and the United Nations in December 2023 to activate international legal institutions. We presented a total of 8 folders of evidence regarding the genocide. The Prosecutor's Office of the International Criminal Court requested the arrest of 2 Israeli genociders from the preliminary examination department of the court."

A FILE WAS PREPARED FOR THE 21,000 CHILDREN KILLED

Şamlı stated that as the Bar Association, they have prepared two separate files regarding child genocide and women genocide, and they will submit the file prepared for the 21,000 children killed to both the International Criminal Court and UNICEF.
