"LOVE AND AFFECTION ARE BOTH TEMPORARY"
Stating that love and emotions change and transform over time, Somer Sivrioğlu expressed his understanding of relationships with these words: "Love is temporary; even affection is sometimes temporary. Relationships are something that wears down, changes, and transforms. Sometimes you can keep up, sometimes you cannot. Loves, this and that, come and go, but effort remains. And a person always loves what they have put the most effort into."

Arguing that breakups do not erase the beautiful years lived in the past and the effort given, the famous chef made a self-criticism regarding the 20-year period he spent with his ex-wife. Drawing attention to the impossibility of ignoring what has been lived, Sivrioğlu: "Nobody talks about this; my ex-wife and I were together for 20 years. For me to end my relationship with her means stopping my 20 years. How can I throw my 20-year life in the trash? I mean, pretending it never existed is, I think, very selfish," he said.
