Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ismail Baghaei announced that the US conveyed its views on Iran's 14-point peace plan through Pakistan and that this response is being reviewed. Baghaei denied reports claiming "Iran has agreed to clear mines in the Strait of Hormuz," emphasizing that their proposal does not cover the nuclear issue and that the main focus is to end the war. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said he has reviewed Iran's proposal and finds it "unacceptable."
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ismail Baghaei made statements regarding the 14-point proposal his country submitted to the United States through Pakistan.
"VIEWS CONVEYED BY THE US THROUGH PAKISTAN ARE BEING EXAMINED" According to Iran's state television, Baghaei said, "The US side has conveyed its views on Iran's proposed plan to the Pakistani side. These views are currently being examined."
Baghaei denied claims that Iran would clear mines in the Strait of Hormuz, stating, "The 14-point proposal focuses on ending the war. The proposed framework is primarily based on a pause and then addressing details within a 30-day period. The nuclear issue is not included in these points. Claims that Iran has committed to clearing mines in the Strait of Hormuz are media fabrications."
Stating that Iran fundamentally does not accept negotiations under ultimatums, Baghaei noted that the guarantee of any potential agreement lies in the country's power on the ground.
Ismail Baghaei SOME DETAILS OF IRAN'S 14-POINT PROPOSAL TO THE US REVEALED Some details regarding Iran's 14-point proposal submitted to the US through Pakistan have also emerged. According to Iran's semi-official Fars News Agency, Tehran emphasized its red lines in the 14-point proposal while suggesting a concrete roadmap for ending the war. Although the US's 9-point proposal requested a two-month ceasefire, Iran emphasized in its own proposal that issues should be resolved within 30 days and that the focus should be on "ending the war" rather than extending the ceasefire.
Iran's proposal includes the withdrawal of US forces from around Iran, lifting the naval blockade, releasing Tehran's frozen assets, payment of war reparations by the US, removal of first and second-tier sanctions against Iran, and ending the war on all fronts including Lebanon.
The news also stated that the proposal was evaluated within Iran's decision-making mechanisms and submitted after obtaining necessary approvals.
TRUMP: UNACCEPTABLE TO ME Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump announced that he has reviewed Iran's proposal presented in the negotiations and finds it "unacceptable." Speaking to Israeli media, Trump said regarding the proposal, "I have reviewed Iran's new proposal, and it is unacceptable to me." Earlier in the day, President Trump stated on his Truth Social account that he would review the proposal conveyed by mediators, but claimed that Iran has not yet paid a sufficiently heavy price for what it has done to humanity and the world over the past 47 years.
KHAMENEI'S CLEAR MESSAGE TO GULF STATES: US SHOW BASES CANNOT PROTECT YOU While the official response from the US side to the proposal was eagerly awaited, Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei had implicitly targeted the Gulf states. Khamenei said, "The US's show bases cannot even ensure their own security, let alone protect the American-worshippers in the region."
WHITE HOUSE TO US CONGRESS: HOSTILITIES THAT BEGAN ON FEBRUARY 28 HAVE ENDED The White House sent a letter to the US Congress stating that hostilities with Iran have ended. In the letter signed by US President Donald Trump, addressed to US House Speaker Mike Johnson, it stated, "The hostilities that began on February 28, 2026, have ended," but it was also clearly stated that the war might be far from over. The letter included the statement, "Despite the success of US operations against the Iranian regime and ongoing efforts to achieve a lasting peace, the threat posed by Iran to the US and our armed forces remains significant."
