FREE TREATMENT OFFER IN PRIVATE HOSPITALS
Karakaş announced that there is a legal provision in the new social security proposal being discussed in the Parliament that states, "Babies up to 3 years old and all children can benefit from private hospitals for free." Karakaş said, "If this proposal becomes law, it will be an important step in child health services."
3600 ADDITIONAL INDICATOR BACK ON THE AGENDA
Addressing the long-awaited issue of the 3600 additional indicator, Karakaş stated, "The regulation concerning half a million civil servants and retired civil servants will definitely be passed. This issue is on the agenda of the Minister of Labor and Social Security." It is noted that the regulation will particularly cover teachers, police officers, nurses, and religious officials.
DISCIPLINARY AMNESTY MAY COME WITH LIMITED SCOPE
Karakaş also touched on expectations for disciplinary amnesty, stating that there are positive signals for the regulation that has been awaited since 2006. However, he expressed that the scope of the amnesty could be narrow, possibly limited only to "crimes committed against the state."
SALARY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WORKERS AND CIVIL SERVANTS ON THE AGENDA
Pointing out the salary difference between workers and civil servants performing the same duties in the public sector, Karakaş said, "If a security officer is a civil servant, they earn 50 thousand lira, while if they are a worker, they earn 70 thousand lira. This injustice must be rectified." Karakaş also mentioned that efforts are ongoing to transfer civil servants in the auxiliary services class to general administrative services and to revisit the 1-degree application given in 2005.
DEMAND FOR FIXING THE TAX BRACKET IS INCREASING
Karakaş also addressed the expectation of a new regulation regarding tax deductions from employees' salaries. He stated, "The tax tariff is updated once a year, which leads to an increase in deductions as salaries rise. Unions, employers, and employees have formed a common demand on this issue. In the KPDK meeting, the proposal to fix the tax bracket at 15% was brought to the table."
206 THOUSAND RETIREMENTS CANCELLED
Highlighting the importance of the letter codes in insurance service statements, Karakaş explained commonly misunderstood details: "'K', 'Ş', or 'S' appearing in the statement indicates that retirement is at risk. 'S' indicates false insurance, 'Ş' indicates a suspicious workplace, and 'K' indicates a business under control."
As a result of inspections carried out in this context, 206 thousand people's retirements have been cancelled since 2016. Karakaş also emphasized that the retirement salaries of these individuals were reclaimed with interest.
