As a result of negotiations held in Egypt, a historic peace agreement has been reached between Israel and Hamas. A ceasefire has come into effect in Gaza. While cabinet approval is awaited on the Israeli side, critical steps will be taken on Thursday and Friday as part of the ceasefire. Accordingly, the Israeli army will withdraw to the yellow line on Friday, and hostages will be released on Monday. Additionally, Trump will also visit Israel.

Israel and Hamas took a significant step towards ending the war that has led to the deaths of more than 67,000 people in two years during the third round of negotiations held yesterday in Egypt's resort town of Sharm El-Sheikh.

NETANYAHU: ALL HOSTAGES WILL BE RETURNED HOME

After indirect negotiations involving National Intelligence Organization (MIT) President Ibrahim Kalın, U.S. President Donald Trump's special representative Steve Witkoff, and his son-in-law Jared Kushner, it was announced that the parties had reached an agreement that includes a hostage and prisoner exchange along with a ceasefire. Trump proudly announced on his social media platform Truth Social that "Israel and Hamas have approved the first phase of our peace plan," stating that this means all hostages will be released and Israel will withdraw its soldiers as agreed. Palestinian sources mentioned in their statements yesterday that the maps for troop withdrawal presented by Israel were discussed during the talks. Both Israel and Hamas confirmed that an agreement was reached in Egypt. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the agreement, which will "ensure the return of all hostages home," will be presented to the government for approval today. Hamas, confirming the development, stated, "The losses we have incurred will not be in vain. We will continue our struggle for freedom and independence" until the end.

HERE'S WHAT WILL HAPPEN DAY BY DAY

According to information reported by the Israeli press, the ceasefire will take effect on the ground immediately after the signatures are affixed. The Israeli cabinet will convene today to approve the first phase of the agreement. With Israel's approval, the release of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails will be authorized.

After the signatures, the Israeli army will need to withdraw its soldiers from the agreed line within 24 hours. Following the Israeli cabinet's approval, Hamas will release Israeli hostages within 72 hours. The hostages will be released "in one go and without public ceremonies."

WHAT WILL HAPPEN ON FRIDAY?

The day after the signing of the ceasefire agreement, the Israeli army will withdraw from the designated 'yellow line.' According to information obtained, Israel will maintain control over 53% of the Gaza Strip in this context.

HOSTAGES MAY BE RELEASED ON MONDAY

The release of Israeli hostages is planned to coincide with U.S. President Trump's visit to Israel on Saturday, with reports indicating that Trump will make a statement in Jerusalem on Sunday.

Trump also stated in an interview with Fox News that he expects the hostages to be released on Monday.

Under the agreement, 1,700 Palestinians detained since October 7 and 250 Palestinians sentenced to life imprisonment will be released in exchange for 20 Israeli hostages.
