It was announced that Russian President Putin has imposed a ban on diesel fuel exports due to the ongoing fuel crisis in the country. Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak also stated that they will begin importing fuel in July to increase supply in the domestic market. This decision, made following Ukraine's drone attacks on Russian oil refineries, has been expanded to cover all market participants, including producers.
Russian President Vladimir Putin held a video conference meeting with government members. During the meeting, current issues related to education and digital services in the country were discussed, while Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak made statements regarding fuel supply and the transportation sector in Russia.
DIESEL FUEL EXPORT BANNED
Novak stated that due to problems in gasoline and diesel supply, a ban on diesel fuel exports has been imposed and Russia will begin fuel imports in July. The export ban, which also includes fuel producers, will remain in effect until July 31.
Noting that the current situation at gas stations has caused concern among the public, Novak said, "Today, a ban on diesel fuel exports has been imposed. This will ensure an increase in supply in the domestic market."
EXTENDED TO COVER ALL MARKET ACTORS
Russian news agency TASS reported that the diesel export ban, which previously covered only companies that are not fuel producers, has been expanded to cover all market actors. It was stated that the decision would not affect fuel shipments carried out under intergovernmental agreements.
DECISION FOLLOWS UKRAINE'S ATTACKS
This development comes after Ukraine's recent intense drone attacks on oil refineries and fuel storage facilities belonging to Russia.
