The Commander of the Russian Strategic Missile Forces, Sergey Karakayev, made evaluations regarding the 'Oreşnik' missile tested in an attack on a military facility in Ukraine, stating, "This weapon can hit all targets across Europe depending on the assigned mission and range." Putin also remarked, "No one in the world has a weapon similar to this. Today, there are no means in the world to counter or prevent this missile."
Russia's response to Ukraine's use of U.S.-made ATACMS and British-made long-range Storm Shadow missiles against Russian targets has been severe. Russia, which has changed its nuclear engagement rules, launched intercontinental ballistic missiles at Ukraine.
"CAN STRIKE TARGETS ACROSS EUROPE"
While the tension in the region worries the whole world, a striking statement came from Sergey Karakayev, the Commander of the Russian Strategic Missile Forces. Speaking at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the management of the Russian Ministry of Defense, military industry representatives, and missile system manufacturers, Karakayev stated that the 'Oreşnik' missile, equipped with non-nuclear hypersonic equipment tested in an attack on a military facility in Ukraine, is "unmatched in the world. The missile's equipment guarantees overcoming existing and future missile defense systems. This weapon can strike all targets across Europe depending on the assigned mission and distance."
"NO ONE IN THE WORLD HAS IT"
Russian leader Putin stated, "The development of such weapons is vital for our country. The weapon system tested yesterday is a solid guarantee of Russia's territorial integrity and sovereignty. No one in the world has a weapon similar to this. Today, there is no tool in the world that can counter this missile or prevent it. We will continue to test new weapon systems," he said.
"MORE THAN ONE SYSTEM IN TEST PHASE"
Putin emphasized that the 'Oreşnik' missile is not a strategic weapon but possesses the power of such weapons, sharing that this missile will enter mass production and be made available to the Russian Strategic Missile Forces. He stated that they would continue such tests based on security threats in wartime conditions, asserting that they have the necessary potential for this. Putin said, "In addition to Oreşnik, there are multiple systems in the working phase to be tested in Russia. These systems will also enter mass production after being tested. Thus, we will have a group of medium and short-range weapons."
PRODUCED IN A SHORT TIME
Vasiliy Tonkoşurov, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Military-Industrial Commission, also stated that the system in question was produced in a short time with Russian technological products.
