In the İnegöl district of Bursa, a 2-year-old girl, Melis Çalım, who was alleged to have stepped down from the sidewalk onto the road while beside her aunt, was struck by a car turning into a side street. The small child, trapped under the vehicle, was taken to hospital with severe injuries. Melis, whose heart stopped while she was being transferred to another hospital, could not be saved despite all interventions. It was learned that the little girl's birthday was on October 19, only 6 days after the accident. The driver of the car was taken into custody.

CAR HIT HER WHILE SHE WAS BESIDE HER AUNT
The accident occurred around 17:00 on Büyükdere Street in Turgutalp Neighborhood of İnegöl district. According to information obtained, the car driven by 40-year-old S.K. hit 2-year-old Melis Çalım as it turned into a side street. Allegedly, little Melis let go of the hand of her aunt Z.Ç., who was beside her at that moment, and stepped down from the sidewalk onto the road. The child, hit by the car turning into the side street, was trapped under the vehicle. After the accident, nearby citizens rushed to help.
DRIVER PULLED THE LITTLE CHILD OUT FROM UNDER THE CAR
Immediately after the accident, the car driver S.K., with the help of nearby citizens, pulled Melis out from under the vehicle. The seriously injured little child was taken to İnegöl State Hospital by the driver. After Melis received initial treatment here by medical teams, because her condition was serious, it was decided to transfer her to another hospital. The little child was sent by ambulance to Bursa Yüksek İhtisas Training and Research Hospital for advanced treatment.
HER HEART STOPPED IN THE AMBULANCE
Melis Çalım's condition worsened during her transfer between hospitals. The heart of 2-year-old Melis stopped while she was in the ambulance. Medical teams intervened to revive the little child. However, despite all interventions, Melis could not be saved. The death of the little child, who was seriously injured when she was hit by the car as she stepped from the sidewalk onto the road, left her family in great grief.
