In Istanbul, a police officer who was reported to have died in an accident involving a service vehicle carrying police officers on the North Marmara Highway was revived with CPR. In a second statement from the governor's office, it was stated, "Our police officer Mustafa Aydın, whose heart stopped in the accident and was restarted with CPR, could not be saved despite all interventions and has become a martyr. The treatments of a total of 29 injured, including 3 seriously injured, are continuing in hospitals."

Sad news has come from the police officer who was revived with CPR after the service vehicle carrying police officers was involved in an accident in Başakşehir, Istanbul.

30 PEOPLE INJURED, 4 SERIOUSLY

The accident occurred around 09:00 on the North Marmara Highway Başakşehir-Habipler Connection road. The service vehicle with license plate 34 LHU 912, which was carrying police officers, collided with a car with license plate 34 EYG 499. While the service minibus was able to stop by hitting the barriers, the car fell onto the median. Upon notification, a large number of fire, medical, and police teams were dispatched to the scene. A total of 30 people were injured, 4 of them seriously. It was reported that 27 of the injured were police officers.

STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE

In a statement from the Istanbul Governor's Office, it was stated, "In the traffic accident that occurred on the North Marmara Highway, 1 of our police officers lost his life, and 1 seriously injured, 27 police officers were injured. CPR was applied to our police officer who lost his life during the transfer to the hospital and during his long stay in the hospital. In the final stage of the CPR, our police officer's heart was restarted, and our colleague was brought back to life. In the accident, 30 people were injured, 4 of them seriously. The treatments of the injured are continuing in the hospitals they were taken to."

GOVERNOR GÜL VISITED THE INJURED

Istanbul Governor Davut Gül and Provincial Police Chief Selami Yıldız visited the injured who were taken to Çam and Sakura City Hospital, Sultangazi Haseki Training and Research Hospital, and Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Training and Research Hospital after being injured in the accident. Governor Gül and his companions received information from hospital officials about the health status of the 30 injured, including 27 police officers, and conveyed their wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured and their families.
