A suspect identified for theft in Istanbul's Başakşehir district tried to flee after ignoring police's 'stop' warning. Following a brief chase, the suspect was apprehended after his vehicle's tires were deflated. Large amounts of cash and mobile phones were found on the suspect, leading to legal proceedings, and a fine of 330,000 TL was imposed for various violations.
A 21-year-old suspect, A.H.Ç., who was caught committing open theft in the Başakşehir district of Istanbul, fled after ignoring the police's "stop" order. Following a brief chase, the suspect was apprehended after the tires of his vehicle were deflated.
HE FLED, THE CHASE BEGAN
The incident occurred in the morning hours on İstiklal Avenue in the Şamlar neighborhood. A.H.Ç., who was wanted to be stopped by police teams due to suspicious behavior, began to flee in his vehicle without heeding the warning. A short chase ensued between the teams and the suspect.
TIRES DEFLATED, HE WAS CAUGHT
The suspect, who continued his escape, was stopped by police intervention. A.H.Ç., who was neutralized by deflating the vehicle's tires, was caught at the scene and taken into custody.
MONEY AND PHONE FOUND ON HIM
During the search of the suspect, 2 mobile phones, 17,330 TL, 320 US dollars, and 80 euros, believed to have been obtained from the theft, were seized.
330 THOUSAND TL FINE ISSUED, VEHICLE BANNED FROM TRAFFIC
A.H.Ç. was fined a total of 330 thousand TL in administrative penalties for failing to obey the "stop" order, driving without a license, and reckless weaving. The vehicle with license plate 34 MVY 998, which the suspect was driving, was banned from traffic for 120 days.
It was learned that the suspect, taken into custody on charges of "open theft," will be referred to judicial authorities after the procedures.
