It was alleged that questions from the end-of-year theoretical exam for the third term at Süleyman Demirel University (SDÜ) Faculty of Medicine in Isparta were leaked in exchange for bribes. An investigation was launched by the Isparta Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the exam was canceled by the faculty administration, and a new exam was held today.
The Süleyman Demirel University Faculty of Medicine's year-end theoretical exam for term 3 was held about 2 weeks ago. However, it was alleged that the exam questions were leaked by a student and an academician in exchange for money. Upon the allegation, an investigation was launched by the Isparta Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Within the scope of the investigation, information and findings obtained by the Provincial Police Department were reported to the SDÜ Faculty of Medicine Dean's Office. According to the obtained information and findings, it was claimed that the questions were leaked as part of a bribery offense.
EXAM CANCELLED BY UNANIMOUS VOTE
The SDÜ Faculty of Medicine Board of Directors convened urgently on June 24, 2026. In the meeting, it was decided to cancel the entire exam due to exam security concerns, as it could not be determined which students received the leaked questions. The decision was made unanimously.
EXAM WAS HELD AGAIN
In a statement made by the SDÜ Faculty of Medicine Dean's Office regarding the new exam schedule, it was said: "In the meeting of the Faculty Board of Directors on June 24, 2026, with decision number 1162, it was decided to cancel the Term 3 year-end theory exam held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at 10:00 AM, to keep the practical exam held on the same day valid, and to hold the cancelled year-end theory exam on Friday, July 3, 2026 at 10:00 AM, and the make-up exam scheduled for Wednesday, July 8, 2026, on Monday, July 13, 2026 at 10:00 AM in the Faculty of Medicine classrooms, Term 2 and Term 3 lecture halls. This is announced to all our Term 3 students with importance." The cancelled Term 3 year-end exam was held again today at SDÜ Faculty of Medicine.
STATEMENTS OF STUDENTS AND ACADEMICIAN TAKEN
Meanwhile, within the scope of the investigation by the Isparta Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, statements were taken from some students and an academician regarding the leak of the questions. It was learned that no detention or arrest procedures were carried out regarding the incident.
