This decision was not easy for me at all. My primary goal has always been the team's success. After such a bitter disappointment, the team deserves a real fresh start. I want to thank my coaching staff, the support personnel, and everyone in the federation, especially the players with whom I was able to work in a trusting manner. I also owe a special thanks to the fans. You supported us, you believed in us, and you gave us energy even during difficult times. I am deeply sorry that we let you down and couldn't give you more football nights at this World Cup. You deserved much more."
