The public in Israel has been taking to the streets almost every day across the country, especially in the capital Tel Aviv, demanding a ceasefire and prisoner exchange against the far-right government's decision to occupy the city of Gaza, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
According to a report by Haaretz newspaper, three women protesters who participated in a protest in Tel Aviv demanding a ceasefire in Gaza were detained on the grounds of disturbing public order.
The report noted that the Israeli police have increasingly been conducting strip searches on women detained during protests.
In a statement from the Israeli police, it was mentioned that five protesters participating in the "illegal" protest were detained for questioning, stating, "Those detained were searched in accordance with procedure and the authority granted to the police by law. Any other statement is not true."
The Israeli Security Cabinet had approved a plan for the occupation of the city of Gaza in the northern Gaza Strip on August 8.
