Education and training have been suspended for 2 days in 7 districts due to the COP31 Leaders Summit to be held in Antalya. Distance education will be implemented in public and private schools on November 11-12. On the same dates, school shuttle services and bussed education services will be suspended, while female public personnel with children of preschool or primary school age in the designated districts will be considered on administrative leave.

As Antalya prepares to host the international COP31 Leaders' Summit, measures regarding traffic congestion have also been announced ahead of the organization. Within the scope of the circular issued by the Antalya Governor's Office, it was decided to implement distance education in all public and private schools in 7 districts on November 11-12, when the summit will be held.

2 DAYS OF DISTANCE EDUCATION IN 7 DISTRICTS

According to Circular No. 2026/11 on Distance Education and Personnel Practices issued by the Antalya Governor's Office, distance education will be conducted in the districts of Aksu, Döşemealtı, Konyaaltı, Kepez, Manavgat, Muratpaşa, and Serik on Wednesday and Thursday, November 11-12.

The decision will cover all public and private schools in preschool, primary school, lower secondary school, and upper secondary education institutions. In other districts of Antalya, educational activities will continue as normal.

SCHOOL BUSES AND TRANSPORTED EDUCATION WILL ALSO BE SUSPENDED

In the 7 districts where the distance education decision is implemented, school buses and transported education services will also not be provided on the same dates.

Necessary measures will be taken for special education students and students with limited access to distance education. School administrators will remain at their posts in order to monitor the education process, inform students and parents, and ensure the security of school buildings.

2 DAYS OF ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE FOR FEMALE PUBLIC PERSONNEL

The circular also included regulations for public personnel. Accordingly, female public personnel working in the specified 7 districts and having children of preschool or primary school age will be considered on administrative leave on November 11-12.

However, institution heads, unit managers, and personnel working in critical positions will be excluded from this practice.

In addition to personnel assigned to the COP31 organization, personnel working in security, traffic, health, emergency, fire, transportation, infrastructure, energy, water, cleaning, and municipal services will continue their duties.

NO DISRUPTION IN PUBLIC SERVICES

In the governor's circular, it was stated that a sufficient number of personnel must be present in institutions such as population, land registry, tax, social security, and health, where citizens receive intensive services.

Private sector employers were also advised to evaluate flexible working and remote working opportunities, especially for employees with children of preschool and primary school age, taking into account the congestion that may occur during the conference days.
