Under the agreement between the Syrian government and the SDF/YPG, weapon deliveries have begun. In Ain al-Arab, it was reported that 1,170 Kalashnikov-type rifles, along with tanks, armored vehicles, and Humvees, were handed over to the Syrian army. Experts state that the total value of all weapons could reach $1 billion, and that the delivery process, which some groups within the organization oppose, could take months or even years.

The process of weapon deliveries has begun within the scope of the agreement reached between the Syrian government and the SDG/YPG, the Syrian extension of the terrorist organization PKK. It was reported that, within the scope of the deliveries that started on September 3-4, 2026, a large number of weapons and military vehicles in the hands of the organization have been transferred to the Syrian army.

1,170 RIFLES DELIVERED IN AYN AL-ARAB

It was reported that 1,170 Kalashnikov-type rifles were delivered to the Syrian army in Ayn al-Arab (Kobani). It was noted that the delivered military equipment also included tanks, artillery, and armored vehicles.

According to the news from Türkiye Gazetesi, it was stated that the number of tanks transferred so far has exceeded 30, and the number of armored vehicles has exceeded 50. It was also stated that approximately 80 Humvee-type vehicles provided to the organization by the USA have been added to the Syrian army's inventory.

ATTENTION DRAWN TO THE SOURCE OF THE WEAPONS

A source from the Syrian Ministry of Defense stated that the military inventory in the hands of the SDG/YPG does not consist solely of equipment provided by the USA. It was stated that weapons obtained by the organization from DAESH and the deposed Assad regime also hold a significant place in the inventory.

"THE VALUE OF ALL WEAPONS COULD REACH 1 BILLION DOLLARS"

Syrian expert Abdurrahman Dede, noting that a comprehensive delivery inventory has not yet been published, claimed that the equipment transferred so far is worth approximately 200 million dollars.

Dede stated that among those delivered were tanks, BTR-type armored personnel carriers, Humvees, truck-mounted artillery, military trucks, mortars and field guns, heavy machine guns, anti-aircraft guns, ammunition, and spare parts.

Stating that the value of weapons and ammunition seized from the SDG/YPG during the Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor operations exceeded 500 million dollars, Dede expressed that if all the weapons in the hands of the organization were delivered, the total value could reach around 1 billion dollars.

CLAIM OF SECRET WEAPON DEPOTS

Dede argued that some groups within the SDG oppose the process and claimed that there are secret weapon depots in mountainous regions and on the borders of Iraq and Türkiye.

Stating that a definitive inventory of the weapons found in the regions under the organization's control, including Qamishli and Ayn al-Arab, has not yet been presented, Dede said that it is therefore not possible to give a precise figure regarding the total amount of weapons to be delivered.

"DELIVERIES COULD TAKE MONTHS, EVEN YEARS"

Ebu Isa, the commander of the Suwar Raqqa Group, one of the SDG components, also stated that he does not expect all the weapons to be delivered in a short time. Ebu Isa argued that there are different groups within the organization that oppose the process and stated that the delivery of weapons and ammunition could take months, even years. He also claimed that there is a possibility that some groups might form a new armed structure.
