Selçuk Özdağ, one of the closest aides of Ahmet Davutoğlu, who announced the dissolution of his party, made exclusive statements to Haberler.com. Özdağ answered the question about whether he would move to the AK Party.
The dissolution of the Future Party quickly sparked widespread reactions on both the national agenda and the political agenda. The party's Chairman, Ahmet Davutoğlu, announced the dissolution of his party through a statement published on his social media account.
Selçuk Özdağ, one of Ahmet Davutoğlu's closest aides, the Deputy Group Chairman of the New Path Group and Member of Parliament for Muğla, responded to the question of whether he would join the AK Party following the party's dissolution.
Özdağ, who was a guest of Melis Yaşar on Haberler.com, made striking assessments regarding the current agenda. Evaluating the separation process within the Future Party and the debates over the party's dissolution, Özdağ also answered Melis Yaşar's question, "Do you plan to switch to the AK Party or any other party?"
"THEY WON'T LEAVE, INSHALLAH"
Stating that they want to keep the New Path Group established in Parliament alive, Özdağ responded to the question about whether he would join the AK Party as follows:
"Now, we have a group, called the New Path group. We are four members of parliament elected from the Future Party here. And there are members of parliament from the DEVA Party and the Felicity Party. We want to keep this group alive. If, hypothetically, a member of parliament from here were to go to another party, I would not hope for it. But they could go because they were left without a party; they don't have a party anymore. They won't leave, inshallah."
"WHEN SUCH A THING HAPPENS"
But when such a thing happens, we would knock on the door of the New Welfare Party. Actually, I want this: Conservative democrats; the Felicity, New Welfare, and DEVA Parties should form an alliance together as a single party. On the other side, Nationalist Democrats should form an alliance; like the AK Party-MHP, two parties, one roof, one bloc... To enter the elections nationwide with two parties and to play a key role with the more than 100 members of parliament we would elect. Whoever wins; to say 'Hold on' to single-party, single-man rule, or to those who want to build a party-state. To say 'Hold on, we are the antidote, we are the lightning rod, we are the detergent here' against the mischief of this system; to pass laws in favor of the nation.

Or to be able to say 'Hold on' regarding decree laws, or decrees, or international agreements; in the international agreements we make with dominant powers or with other states. I want to see this. I want to see it transparently. I want to be able to say this regarding this, and in a climate where Turkey has $540 billion in external debt, and in a climate where you borrow from European or American banks, where you take loans, where you take loans from England, to form a bloc against this. That is, to be able to say hold on. Turkey is such an el-cüz-ü lâyetecezzâ state. That is, it is an indivisible part and it is a thousand-year state here. To be able to say it is the state of the Seljuks, the Ottomans, and the Republic. We want to do this, to strive for this. I believe we will create such a climate, and inshallah we will keep our group alive."
