Aleksandar Vucic, whose second term as president of Serbia will end in May next year, signaled that he will continue his political career as prime minister, as the constitution bars him from running for a third presidential term.

"I PLAN TO RESIGN"

When asked in an interview with Belgrade Radio, part of Serbia's state radio and television (RTS), whether he would run for prime minister, Vucic said, "I am considering running for prime minister. I have an important meeting this evening, and we will discuss how the list will be formed. We will include many young, energetic people and students."

Vucic stated, "I plan to resign. Perhaps I can do it within three or four months. I will inform you. Don't worry, it won't be a surprise for anyone. I have started packing my books in the presidency. I will donate the 1,200 books I purchased during my term."

HE ALSO ANNOUNCED THE ELECTION DATE

Vucic also expressed that elections will be held within a few months and that this is a technical matter. The Serbian leader said, "Elections will take place in three or four months. It won't be in July or August. However, whether it will be announced around those dates is another matter."
