Severe explosion at iron and steel factory in Osmaneli: 3 workers injured

3 workers were injured as a result of an explosion in an electric arc furnace at an iron and steel factory in the Osmaneli district of Bilecik.

In the aftermath of the explosion at the iron and steel factory in Osmaneli, injured workers were taken to the hospital. An investigation into the cause of the explosion has been initiated.

The incident occurred around 09:00 in the Selimiye village area of the Osmaneli district. According to the information obtained, an explosion of unknown cause occurred in the arc furnace of the production section of the Has Çelik iron and steel factory operating in the region.

During the explosion, factory workers Mustafa U. (31), Hakan K. (43), and Murat A. (48) were injured. Upon notification, health and security teams were dispatched to the scene.

INJURED WORKERS TAKEN TO HOSPITAL

After initial on-site interventions, the injured workers were taken to Bilecik Training and Research Hospital. It was learned that Mustafa U., who sustained burns on his body, was conscious but his vital condition remained critical.

INVESTIGATION INTO THE CAUSE OF THE EXPLOSION CONTINUES

While power was restored to the factory for the discharge of processed liquid iron in the arc furnace, the Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) teams and an expert committee started examining the area where the explosion occurred.

Investigations and technical examinations related to the incident are ongoing.
