The United Nations (UN) International Organization for Migration (IOM) made a statement regarding the effects of the current weather conditions in Yemen.
OVER 46 THOUSAND PEOPLE AFFECTED BY SEVERE RAINS AND STORMS IN YEMEN
The statement said, "Severe rains and strong storms destroyed homes, wiped out livelihoods, and displaced thousands of families who are already living in insecure conditions. More than 46,500 people have been affected by this situation."
"PEOPLE HAVE BEEN LEFT WITHOUT A SENSE OF SECURITY"
IOM Yemen Mission Chief Abdusattor Esoev stated in his remarks that the flooding disaster in the country is another devastating blow for families who have lost many things.
Esoev noted, "People have once again been left homeless, without belongings, and without a sense of security. They need protection, assistance, and, most importantly, the support of the international community."
