While the forensic report is awaited following the suspicious death at the clinic of Izmir-based obstetrician Dr. Özlem Gültekin, a shocking development has emerged in the case. It has been revealed that the foreign national helper at the home was caught in a police sting operation while trying to sell secretly recorded footage of the famous doctor to her estranged husband for $10,000.
Striking details have emerged in the investigation into the death of 48-year-old Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist Dr. Özlem Gültekin, who suddenly fell ill and died in her own clinic in Izmir on August 13. While the final autopsy report from the Izmir Forensic Medicine Institute is awaited, shocking allegations have been reflected in the investigation file.
"SHE WAS A DRUG ADDICT"
It was learned that Gültekin's estranged husband, Erhan Çelik, filed a criminal complaint with the Izmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Çelik alleged that the late doctor was addicted to narcotic drugs used in anesthesia and demanded that those who helped procure and use these substances be punished.
SECRET FOOTAGE ALLEGATION
In the statement Erhan Çelik gave to the police, the most scandalous detail in the file came to light. According to the allegation; Y.S., a Turkmenistan national helper working in Dr. Özlem Gültekin's home, secretly recorded footage allegedly showing the famous doctor using substances. Putting her treacherous plan into action, the helper Y.S. contacted the estranged husband Erhan Çelik, made an extortionate offer, and wanted to sell the secret recordings in her possession for 10,000 dollars.
POLICE CAUGHT HER RED-HANDED, COURT RELEASED HER
Following the report from Erhan Çelik, who immediately notified the Izmir Police Department, police teams took action. In a swift operation, the Turkmenistani helper Y.S., who was trying to collect the 10,000 dollars, was caught red-handed and taken into custody. According to Birsen Altuntaş's report; after her procedures at the police station, Y.S. was referred to the courthouse and was arrested and sent to prison by the court. It was learned that the suspect helper was released with a judicial control order and a ban on leaving the country at the subsequent hearing regarding the case.
