In an operation carried out in the Cizre district of Şırnak, smuggled gold and foreign currency with a market value of approximately 590 million lira were seized. During the searches conducted after a suspicious vehicle was stopped, 30 gold bars, more than 85,000 grams of processed gold, and a large amount of foreign currency were found. Within the scope of the operation, legal proceedings have been initiated against three suspects, while authorities emphasized that the fight against smuggling continues with determination.
The General Directorate of Security (EGM) reported that approximately 590 million lira worth of smuggled gold and foreign currency were seized in an operation carried out in the Cizre district of Şırnak.
OPERATION CONDUCTED UNDER EGM COORDINATION
According to a post on EGM's social media account, operations were carried out in the city within the scope of the fight against smuggling crimes, coordinated by the Şırnak Provincial Police Department, the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch Directorate, the Intelligence Branch Directorate, and the Cizre Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
