Speedboat capsized in Vietnam: 15 tourists killed

A speedboat capsized near Vietnam's Phu Quoc island. 15 Indian tourists on board died, 21 people were rescued.

Fifteen Indian tourists lost their lives when a speedboat capsized near Phu Quoc Island in southern Vietnam.

The speedboat, carrying 32 Indian tourists and 4 crew members, departed from Hon May Rut Ngoai Island heading to An Thoi Port in Vietnam and capsized near Phu Quoc Island. Rescue and medical teams were dispatched to the area. 

15 TOURISTS LOSE LIVES

Fifteen tourists died in the accident, while 21 people were rescued. In a statement from the Indian Embassy in Hanoi, it was stated that the cause of the accident is under investigation.

Phu Quoc, located in the Gulf of Thailand, is one of Vietnam's most famous beach destinations. Hon May Rut Island is located about 10 kilometers south of Phu Quoc. Both locations attract millions of tourists every year with their white sandy beaches and clear green waters.
