Three people have been detained as part of an investigation into allegations of espionage on behalf of China in the UK. It has been reported that one of those detained in the operation carried out by the Metropolitan Police in London is David Taylor, the husband of Joani Reid, a member of the ruling Labour Party.

In a written statement made by the Metropolitan Police of London, it was reported that a 39-year-old person was detained in London, while two individuals aged 68 and 43 were detained in Powys and Pontyclun in Wales.

It was noted that police teams conducted searches at three different addresses in East Kilbride in Scotland and Cardiff in Wales, in addition to London.

Helen Flanagan, the Director of Counter-Terrorism at the Metropolitan Police of London, stated that the investigation is ongoing and expressed that the incident does not pose any security risk to the community.

ONE OF THE SUSPECTS IS A MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT'S HUSBAND

According to reports in the British press, one of the detained individuals is David Taylor, the husband of Joani Reid, the Labour Party member of parliament for East Kilbride and Strathaven.

After the incident became public, Reid confirmed to Sky News that her husband had been detained.

"I HAVE NOT SEEN ANYTHING INDICATING MY HUSBAND HAS VIOLATED THE LAW"

In her statement, Reid said she has not seen any signs that her husband has committed any legal violations. Stating, "I am not part of my husband's work. My children and I are not part of the ongoing investigation," Reid also emphasized that she has no connection to China.

Reid also mentioned that she has never been to China in her life, has not spoken in parliament about China, nor has she asked any questions regarding it.

"I AM NOT A FAN OF CHINA"

Member of Parliament Reid also expressed that she has not had any meetings with Chinese diplomats, government officials, or business people during her term. Reid stated, "I am not a fan of China in any way."
