As the snow melted, property owners who arrived at the plateau were shocked by the scene inside approximately 10 homes, where steel doors were shattered and windows were torn off; the extent of the devastation in the area was described by property owners as 'as if an earthquake had occurred'.

In the world-famous Anzer Plateau in the İkizdere district of Rize, hungry bears awakening from hibernation have turned plateau houses into a battlefield in their search for food. Citizens who came to the plateau as the snow melted were deeply shocked by the scene they encountered.

THEY RIPPED STEEL DOORS LIKE PAPER

In every second of the images shared on social media, the bears' strength and the destruction they caused were laid bare. The bears tore off windows, ripped steel doors like paper to get inside, and left no intact items in the houses. The footage clearly shows houses turned upside down, kitchen cabinets shattered, and everything destroyed in the hope of finding food.

"IT WASN'T AN EARTHQUAKE, BUT BEARS THAT TURNED THESE HOUSES INTO THIS STATE"

The highlander who recorded the images and visited each house summarizes the scene he encountered with these words:

"Look at the state of these houses... You'd think an earthquake hit here. But no, it wasn't an earthquake, but hungry bears that turned these houses into this state! They forced the steel door open, got inside, and wrecked everything."

MAJOR MATERIAL DAMAGE IN 10 HOUSES

According to initial assessments, it was determined that approximately 10 houses on the plateau were attacked in the same manner. Plateau residents state that they are disturbed not only by the windows but also by the fact that doors were broken directly to enter.

Citizens facing major financial losses before the plateau season are expecting solutions and precautions from authorities against such severe damage to residential areas by wildlife.
