The state officials led by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan visited Anıtkabir on the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic. In his message written in the Anıtkabir Special Book, Erdoğan said, "Dear Atatürk, today we celebrate the 103rd anniversary of the founding of our Republic, for which we paid a great price. We will continue to work resolutely until we reach the goal of the Century of Türkiye."

Within the scope of the celebrations of 29 October Republic Day and the 103rd anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic, the first ceremony was held at Anıtkabir. The ceremony began with the march of state officials along the Road of Lions.

In the cortege on the Road of Lions headed by President Erdoğan, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Numan Kurtulmuş, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, New Party Chairman Özgür Özel, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu, members of the Presidential Cabinet, heads of high judicial bodies, Chief of the General Staff General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, force commanders, representatives of political parties and other state officials were present.

A MOMENT OF SILENCE WAS OBSERVED AT ANITKABİR

After Erdoğan placed the wreath bearing the crescent and star on Atatürk's mausoleum, a moment of silence was observed and the Turkish National Anthem was sung.

Afterwards, Erdoğan and those accompanying him proceeded to the Misak-ı Milli Tower.

WE PAID GREAT PRICES FOR THE REPUBLIC

President Erdoğan wrote the following in the Anıtkabir Special Book here:

"Dear Atatürk, today we are celebrating the 103rd anniversary of the founding of our Republic, for which we paid great prices. On this important day that set a new direction for our history, I remember you, your comrades-in-arms and our heroic martyrs with gratitude. We are in an intense struggle on different fronts to carry the Republic of Turkey, together with its state and nation, to prosperous and victorious tomorrows.

Even before the Republic was proclaimed, in light of your words in your address to the Grand National Assembly on 1 March 1922, 'No instrument, no force can be conceived that would discourage us from pursuing our national cause. Our national cause is our life,' we will continue to work resolutely until we reach the goal of the Century of Türkiye, which we see as our national cause. May your soul rest in peace."
