In his speech at the opening of the Midyat Courthouse, Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek said, "Everyone who enters the courthouse must know that the state is at an equal distance from them and that they will not be left without protection before the law." It drew attention that Minister Gürlek's remarks came immediately after the former Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya was arrested in a fund investigation.

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek and Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan attended the opening of the completed Midyat Courthouse as part of their contacts in Mardin.

In addition to Minister Gürlek and Minister Işıkhan, Mardin Governor Tuncay Akkoyun, AK Party Mardin MPs Faruk Kılıç and Muhammed Adak, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Judges and Prosecutors Fuzuli Aydoğdu, General Director of Criminal Affairs of the Ministry of Justice Hazım Aslancı, Mardin Chief Public Prosecutor Hakan Hanay, and many guests attended the opening.

MINISTER GÜRLEK: THE STATE IS AT AN EQUAL DISTANCE TO EVERYONE WHO ENTERS THE COURTHOUSE DOOR

Recalling that he experienced the pace of work in courthouses closely throughout his professional life, Minister Gürlek said, "I know that every file requires attention, every decision requires meticulous evaluation, and every transaction requires care. As the Ministry, we will continue to develop the opportunities you need to perform your duties in the best way. We are putting new courts into operation and aiming to meet the workload and complete trials within a reasonable time by strengthening specialization. We also evaluate personnel and infrastructure needs together with findings from the field. Our expectation from you is to complete this effort with the care you show to our citizens. The trust in the state of a person who is listened to patiently, informed correctly, and treated with respect is strengthened. Everyone who enters the door of the courthouse should know that the state is at an equal distance to them and that they will not be left without protection before the law." he said.

It was noted that Justice Minister Gürlek's statement came immediately after the arrest of former minister Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya.
