Bornova 1877 Club, bidding farewell to the TFF 3rd League, made a surprising request by calling on the Turkish Football Federation.
REQUEST TO "REMOVE RELEGATION"
Bornova 1877, which was relegated from the TFF 3rd League to the Regional Amateur League, argued that clubs suffered from the betting investigation during the mid-season and applied to the Turkish Football Federation to remove the relegation. 3
In a written statement from the Izmir representative, it was said, "Our club has unfortunately been relegated to the Regional Amateur League as a major consequence of the betting penalties experienced in Turkish football. Our clubs, deprived of individually penalized players, have essentially borne the brunt of the punishment. In this regard, we have made applications to the Turkish Football Federation and other institutions for the removal of relegation, and the process is being meticulously followed. We believe that the grievances arising from betting penalties can only be eliminated by removing the relegation."
