A person who came to Istanbul Palace of Justice to file a divorce case attempted to enter the building with drugs in their pocket. The suspect, caught after the X-ray device gave an alert, was released after giving a statement.
The X-Ray device at the entrance of the Istanbul Courthouse in Istanbul Çağlayan issued an intense warning as a person was passing through. Following this, security personnel searched the individual.
1.1 GRAMS OF DRUGS FOUND ON HIM
During the search, 1.1 grams of drugs wrapped in aluminum foil were seized from the suspect, S.K. The suspect, taken into custody by police officers on duty at the courthouse, was taken to the police station inside the courthouse for processing.
HE CAME TO FILE FOR DIVORCE
In his statement, S.K. said he came to the courthouse to file for divorce, and the foil on him triggered the alarm while passing through the X-Ray. S.K. stated that when the security officers asked what he had, he handed over the drugs he used for personal consumption, claiming he got the substance from an unknown person in Küçükçekmece İkitelli District.
RELEASED
S.K., who mentioned he was on a waiting list for treatment at AMATEM (Alcohol and Drug Treatment Center) and had a previous record for drug use, expressed remorse and said he would seek treatment. The suspect was released after the procedures.
