The teacher who narrowly escaped the chain of horror in Afyonkarahisar, where 8 people were massacred, recounted the moments of terror. Sultan Sema Gökçe, stating that she was sitting in the front seat at the time of the attack, said: "I immediately got out of the vehicle and went down to the lower part by the roadside and shouted 'Don't do it.' However, my two friends in the vehicle could not get out due to the great fear and panic they experienced. 'I'm counting down from three. If you don't get out, I'll shoot,' he said. Then he began counting backwards, and when the time was up, he started firing."

On the route stretching from Afyonkarahisar to Eskişehir, a fight that began over the purchase of a combine harvester turned into a bloody chain of massacres in which 8 people lost their lives and 1 woman was seriously injured. The moments when the frenzied suspect Arif Sefa Özdemir spread terror and the statements of the teacher who survived the attack have emerged.

The chain of events that began around 12:00 on November 5 in Afyonkarahisar became the scene of one of the bloodiest massacres in the history of the Republic. Arif Sefa Özdemir, 28, living in Bozhüyük village in İhsaniye district, met with people with whom he had a dispute stemming from a combine harvester transaction in Gazlıgöl. Later moving to the countryside of Ayazini village, the suspect killed Ahmet Uzel (57), Bekir Toprak (50), and Numan Toprak (56), who had come to collect the combine harvester money in a car with license plate 40 ND 574, by shooting them with a pump-action shotgun around 15:10.

ESCAPE AFTER THE FIRST ATTACK AND CHAIN OF TERROR

After the first murders, the suspect fled the area and cut off a Fiat Doblo vehicle carrying Seydi Ahmet Aydoğmuş (73) and his wife Satı Aydoğmuş (68) on the Kıyır village route. The suspect, who wanted to seize the vehicle, shot and killed the elderly couple and continued his escape by taking their car. About 1 kilometer later, the suspect encountered a car driven by İsmail Şen coming from the opposite direction. When Şen said he would call the police, the suspect opened fire and killed him at the scene as well. In the attacks that began in Ayazini and continued over a distance of about 15 kilometers around Kıyır village, the death toll rose to 6.

Near Yukarıtandır village in İhsaniye district, the suspect shot and killed teachers Hilal Mete (31) and Ayşe Sena Demir (46), who were in a car with license plate 07 BZB 11, with a pump-action shotgun. Teacher S.S.G., who was in the vehicle, managed to survive the attack without injury. Arif Sefa Özdemir described his attack on the teachers calmly in his statement and used the following expressions: 'I cut off the oncoming vehicle. I said my car had broken down and asked for help. The woman sitting in the passenger seat got out of the vehicle and came over to me. I told her that I had committed a crime and that they should hand their vehicle over to me. Then I headed toward the driver's area. At that moment I had no gun in my hand. I talked for 2-3 minutes and said I would only take the car. I also told the driver that I had killed people. I told them to open the door or I would shoot. They were calling the police on the phone. To frighten them, I started counting down from 10 and 5. When I saw that she did not put down the phone, I fired one shot at the one in front and one at the one in back. I did not take this vehicle because there was a dead person inside.'
