The municipal council meeting in Düzce's Akçakoca district was marked by discussions and tense moments. The debate, which started between CHP Mayor Fikret Albayrak and AK Party Council Member Zafer Küçük over audit reports, quickly escalated. After the argument, Mayor Albayrak's reaction to the press members who were recording the meeting and his approach towards them drew attention.
STARTED WITH THE AUDIT REPORT DEBATE
During the Akçakoca Municipality's council meeting in April, Zafer Küçük, who took the floor, criticized some expenditures in the audit reports and began reading sections from the report.
In response, Mayor Fikret Albayrak reacted to Küçük by arguing that the information in question could not be disclosed in the council and could not be served to the press. After the verbal dispute between the two, a break was called in the session.
In the meeting that resumed after the break, Albayrak harshly addressed the council members, stating, "You will call a thief a thief in this country."
WALKED TOWARDS THE JOURNALISTS
Noticing the press members who were recording the meeting, Albayrak approached the journalists, saying, "What are you filming?" After being intervened by others, Albayrak was removed, and then the municipal police and municipal employees escorted the press members out of the hall.
Following the tension, it was learned that the municipal council meeting was postponed to a later date.
