In Istanbul's Avcılar district, in the Gümüşpala neighborhood, a 4-story building demolished as part of urban transformation suddenly collapsed from an excavator strike, destroying the living room wall of the adjacent house. The fact that no one was in the house at that time prevented a possible disaster. Neighbors said the house had shaken earlier and that residents had left the house out of fear of collapse. The moments were captured on a mobile phone camera.

While no one being in the house at that time prevented a possible disaster, the incident was captured on a mobile phone camera.

Another problem has been added to those experienced during urban transformation work in Istanbul's Avcılar district. In Gümüşpala Neighborhood, at around 13:00, while demolition work was being carried out on a 4-story building, the building was razed to the ground by an excavator strike. Citizens experienced fear when the building suddenly collapsed. The wall of another apartment next to the building being worked on was destroyed. No one being at home prevented a possible disaster.

NO ONE WAS AT HOME

Mehmet Yıldırım, a resident of the apartment whose living room wall was destroyed, described what happened, saying, "The wall was destroyed. At that moment, no one was at home. I was at the mosque. I received a phone call."

THEY HAD LEFT THE HOUSE FOR FEAR IT WOULD COLLAPSE

Sedat Limon, on the other hand, said regarding the incident, "They had evacuated the building. The house was already shaking, apparently. They left the house for fear it would collapse. Thank God they had gone. Then we went inside; the condition of the house is obvious. It is not livable there. They will have to go somewhere now."
