Altay, which has been relegated to the 3rd League, has extended the contracts of experienced forwards Murat Uluç and Deniz Kadah until 2027. The 44-year-old Uluç will continue to play in the new season as the oldest player in professional football leagues.
It has been revealed that experienced strikers Murat Uluç and Deniz Kadah, who were relegated to the 3rd League, extended their contracts for another 2 years last month. The black-and-white team, which has been under a transfer ban since the mid-season of the 2021-22 season in which they competed in the Super League, saw their former president Süleyman Özkaral shake hands with Murat and Deniz on May 20, ahead of the congress held on May 28. The contracts of the two players have been extended until 2027. The renewal of contracts for these veteran forwards outside the transfer window has also been reflected to the Turkish Football Federation.
44 YEARS OLD ON THE FIELD
Murat Uluç, who turned 44 on May 15, will continue to wear the team's jersey in the new season as the oldest player in professional football leagues in Turkey. After retiring from football, Murat Uluç worked as a sports director and coach, and returned to the team in 2022 due to Altay's transfer ban, three years after he bid farewell to the fields. Upon his return to football, Uluç managed to become the oldest goalscorer in professional leagues and the Turkish Cup. Murat and 39-year-old Deniz, who has been in the squad since the Super League, shook the opponent's nets three times in the 2nd League last season.
