The court panel sentenced Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat, who was suspended from duty after his arrest, to a total of 23 years, 3 months, and 7 days in prison for "tampering with tenders," "bribery on two counts," and "money laundering." It was stated that suspect Fahri Aksoy, during the period when Rıza Akpolat was a candidate for mayor, transferred 2015 and 2016 model Audi A8 L vehicles to a company owned by Akpolat in order to obtain tenders from the municipality if he were elected.
