At Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport, starting May 10, the "silent airport" application will eliminate announcements inside the terminal except for emergencies; passengers will track flight information via digital screens and mobile applications.
Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport is implementing the "silent airport" practice to make the passenger experience more comfortable. With the application starting on May 10, the number of announcements throughout the terminal will be significantly reduced.
Under the new system, announcements will be made only for emergencies, critical security-related information, and exceptional cases with operational necessity.
AIMING FOR A CALMER AND MORE COMFORTABLE ENVIRONMENT
The airport management aims to reduce the noise level inside the terminal with this application and provide passengers with a quieter travel environment. It is particularly intended to reduce the sound density caused by frequent announcements during peak hours.
FLIGHT INFORMATION WILL BE TRACKED THROUGH DIGITAL CHANNELS
With the new application, passengers will be able to track flight information from Flight Information Display Screens (FIDS) located throughout the terminal. Additionally, airlines' mobile applications, SMS, and email notifications will be actively used.
Passengers can also access real-time flight information via the Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport mobile application and SAVVy Digital Assistant.
