While the first results from the elections in Israel show that Netanyahu's era is coming to an end, Arabs showed great interest in the elections. In the coalition expected to be formed under the leadership of opposition bloc leader Gadi Eisenkot, Arab parties have come to a key position. The Joint List formed by the Hadash, Taal, and Balad parties, which represent Palestinian citizens of Israel, will have 10 seats, while the Raam Party (United List) led by Mansur Abbas will be represented by 7 seats in Parliament.
The first results announced after the general elections held in Israel indicate that the long-running Benjamin Netanyahu era in the country has come to an end. The picture emerging from the ballot box shows that the opposition has gained strength and that the chance to form a government has passed to the bloc led by former Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot.
ARABS WIN 17 SEATS
One of the most noteworthy developments in these elections was the intense interest shown by Palestinian citizens of Israel in the ballot box. According to the election results, the Joint List formed by the Hadash, Taal, and Balad parties won 10 seats, while the Ra'am Party led by Mansur Abbas won 7 seats.
The Arab parties' reaching a total of 17 seats in the Knesset has put them in a key position for the new government to be formed. The fact that the opposition bloc led by Eisenkot needs the support of these parties in order to come to power shows that the balances in Israeli politics will be re-established.
CELEBRATIONS BEGIN
The polls have closed in the general elections in Israel, and vote counting has begun. With the publication of exit polls in the general elections, in which Palestinian citizens of Israel showed high turnout, supporters of the Joint Arab List held celebrations at the Joint Arab List headquarters in the Israeli city of Nazareth.
"WE WILL TURN THE SEATS WE HAVE WON INTO A NEW REALITY IN ISRAEL"
Mansur Abbas, head of the United Arab List, said, "We will turn the seats we have won into a new reality in Israel. It is impossible to ignore us."
