Kahramanmaras Governor Mukerrem Unluer provided details of the bloody school attack that left 4 dead and 20 injured. Unluer stated, 'An 8th-grade student opened fire randomly at the school with weapons in his backpack. The attacker used 5 firearms and 7 magazines. According to initial determinations, 4 people lost their lives. We have 20 seriously injured. The attacker committed suicide by shooting himself.'
A gun attack at a middle school in Kahramanmaraş has shaken Turkey. In the attack carried out by an 8th-grade student, 4 people lost their lives and 20 were injured.
ENTERED TWO CLASSROOMS AND OPENED FIRE
The incident occurred around 13:30 at Ayser Çalık Middle School in the Onikişubat district. Kahramanmaraş Governor Mükerrem Ünlüer stated that the attacker entered two classrooms and opened fire. It was reported that 4 of the injured are in serious condition.
STORMED THE SCHOOL WITH 5 GUNS AND 7 MAGAZINES
It was learned that the attacker came to the school with a backpack and had 5 guns and 7 magazines with him. According to initial information, the attacker, who reportedly targeted fifth-grade classes, ended his life at the school after the incident. It was also conveyed that the attacker's father is a former police officer.
PARENTS RUSHED TO THE SCHOOL
Parents who heard the news of the gun attack rushed to the school. Police took security measures around the school.
7 PROSECUTORS ASSIGNED
A comprehensive investigation was launched after the incident. Justice Minister Akın Gürlek announced that 3 Acting Chief Public Prosecutors and 4 Public Prosecutors have been assigned. It was also announced that a broadcast ban decision was taken for the integrity of the investigation.
TWO MINISTERS HEADING TO THE REGION
It was learned that Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi and National Education Minister Yusuf Tekin are also heading to Kahramanmaraş.

On the other hand, a similar attack that occurred a day earlier in the Siverek district of Şanlıurfa has come back to the agenda. In the attack on a high school, 16 people were injured and the attacker committed suicide.
