When the land is limited and the geography is challenging, the practical intelligence of the Black Sea people came into play again. In Rize's Çayeli district, a citizen who could not find flat land built his house right on top of the road, and with his extraordinary 6-column villa through which even concrete mixers can easily pass underneath, he became the center of attention.
A citizen named Muhammet Dilmaç, who could not find flat land in Çayeli, erected 6 giant concrete columns on the road passing through the mountain slope and built his house in the air. Even concrete mixers can easily pass under the house.
THE METHOD HE FOUND TO NOT BLOCK THE ROAD IS UNBELIEVABLE
Another one was added to the extraordinary solutions people have found against construction in the steep and difficult geography of the Eastern Black Sea. Muhammet Dilmaç, who lives in the town of Büyükköy in Rize's Çayeli district, found an extraordinary solution when he could not find flat land to build a house. Dilmaç erected 6 giant concrete columns 7.5 meters high to avoid closing the road passing through his own land and not to block the passage of trucks and construction vehicles belonging to his neighbors, and built a 4+1 wooden villa on these columns. The house, under which even concrete mixers can easily pass, attracts great attention from those who see it.
"WE THOUGHT OF SUCH A PROJECT BECAUSE WE DID NOT HAVE LAND"
Describing the extraordinary construction process, Muhammet Dilmaç said, "Since we did not have a large piece of land to build a house in the Black Sea Region, we thought of such a project. We started the foundations from below and continued upwards. The most important reason I made the house this high is the location of my neighbor's house. We raised the structure up to 4 meters 40 centimeters so that if my neighbor wants to build a house in the future, concrete mixers can easily pass underneath. Due to the slope of the land, the height of the 6 columns reaches 7.5 meters. The upper floor of the house is 100 square meters. I built this house by making use of my free time" he said.
"WE HAVE A HIGH, AIRY AND BEAUTIFUL HOUSE"
Kezban Dilmaç, who stated that she is very satisfied with the new state of the house, said, "My husband had planned the house this way. They decided together with the children and built it, and it turned out very beautiful. Those who see it really like our house, guests come and take lots of photos. Since a road passes under the house and we have to allow the passage of work machines, we had to build it high. Compared to a normal house, we have a much higher, airier and more beautiful house" she said.
