It has been determined that 37-year-old writer Murat Koparan, found dead in his villa in Istanbul's Üsküdar district, committed suicide with a gun after a phone call with his ex-wife. It was reported that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
The cause of death of author Murat Koparan, who was found dead in his villa in Istanbul's Üsküdar district, has been determined.
COMMITTED SUICIDE AFTER TALKING TO HIS EX-WIFE
The investigation revealed that 37-year-old Koparan committed suicide by shooting himself after a phone call with his ex-wife. It was reported that the investigation proceedings regarding the incident are ongoing.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The incident occurred on Tuesday, August 25, at around 16:15 in Bahçelievler Neighborhood. According to the claim, author Murat Koparan had a phone conversation with his ex-wife Elif Feyza Y., from whom he divorced about 2 years ago, approximately 1 hour before the incident. During the phone call, Elif Feyza Y., who heard the gunshot, notified the police.
Upon the report, police, health, and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the villa. Firefighters reached the balcony using a ladder and entered. Koparan, found shot in the head in the bathroom on the 3rd floor of the villa, was determined to have lost his life during the check by health teams.
HE WAS A FATHER OF 4 CHILDREN
During the teams' examination of the villa, a pistol considered to be unlicensed was found. It was learned that Koparan had been staying in the villa, which had been vacant for a long time.
Koparan's body was buried after the funeral prayer held at Fatih Edirnekapı Mihrimah Sultan Mosque. It was learned that Koparan was a father of 4 children.
