The Central Bank's reserves have reached a historic record. According to the new report, the bank's reserves have reached a level higher than ever before. This development has caused great excitement in economic circles and has led to comments indicating the success of the Central Bank's policies.
The total reserves of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) increased by 5 billion 660 million dollars to reach 173 billion 152 million dollars in the week of February 14, compared to the previous week, while the net reserves excluding swaps also rose to 71 billion 498 million dollars, reaching the highest level ever.
RESERVES BREAK RECORD
The CBRT announced its weekly money and banking statistics. Accordingly, as of February 14, the Central Bank's gross foreign exchange reserves increased by 3 billion 748 million dollars to 100 billion 677 million dollars. The gross foreign exchange reserves were at 96 billion 929 million dollars on February 7. During this period, gold reserves increased by 1 billion 912 million dollars, rising from 70 billion 563 million dollars to 72 billion 475 million dollars. Thus, the total reserves of the Central Bank increased by 5 billion 660 million dollars from 167 billion 492 million dollars to 173 billion 152 million dollars in the week of February 14, compared to the previous week. On the other hand, the Central Bank's reserves, known as net reserves excluding swaps, also broke a record at 71 billion 498 million dollars.
