A 7-year-old child who went missing after leaving his mother's side at a market in Istanbul's Başakşehir district and boarded an IETT bus was reunited with his family thanks to the driver's attention and care.
In the Başakşehir district of Istanbul, 7-year-old S.K. left her home with her mother, and while shopping at a market, she separated from her mother and went outside, boarding an IETT bus at the stop in front of the market among other passengers.
REUNITED WITH FAMILY THANKS TO IETT DRIVER'S ATTENTIVENESS
Noticing the situation after a while, IETT driver Veysi Karataş parked the bus in a safe area. The driver then reported the situation to the IETT Fleet Management Center and security units. After completing his route and parking the bus, Karataş took close care of the child, using the smartwatch in the child's pocket to contact the mother and inform her that the child was on the bus and safe. In this way, 7-year-old S.K. was handed over to her family at the Organized Industrial Zone 1 stop, 16 stops from where she first boarded the bus.
EXTREMELY INTERESTED IN BUSES
Mother Seda Coşkun, stating that her child has an extreme interest in buses and often tries to board them, came to the IETT's Fenertepe platform the day after the incident and thanked the IETT captain and IETT officials for their sensitivity.
