A 16-year-old boy took his father's luxury car and hit the road in Aksaray. When he did not heed the police team's "stop" warning, the city went into a state of alarm. The chase between the boy driver, who tried to escape by drifting and weaving through traffic, and the police resembled a scene from a movie. After a pursuit lasting about 15 minutes, the vehicle was stopped. The boy driver was fined a total of 381,000 lira.
A 16-year-old boy, who took his father's luxury car and drove it into traffic in Aksaray, experienced a chase reminiscent of movie scenes when he did not heed the police's "stop" warning. The vehicle pursued by the traffic teams was caught after approximately 15 minutes of following, and the young driver was fined heavily.
POLICE REALIZED THE DRIVER WAS A CHILD
The incident occurred on Ebulfeyz Elçibey Street in the Taşpazan neighborhood. According to the information obtained, Ö.F.K. (16), who took his father's luxury vehicle with the license plate 68 KD 202, started to roam around the city center with his friend M.T. (16). At that moment, the teams from the Traffic Branch of the Provincial Police Department, suspecting the vehicle, noticed that the driver was a child and attempted to stop the car. However, the driver sped away without complying with the police's "stop" warning.
CAUSED CHAOS IN TRAFFIC
The child driver pursued by the police continued to flee despite all warnings made through the megaphone. During the chase, the driver drifted, swerved dangerously in traffic, and proceeded through red lights without stopping, also trying to lose the police by turning off the vehicle's lights. Following the announcement from the teams, some roads across the city were closed using traffic storage methods.
ESCAPE LASTED 15 MINUTES
The chase, which lasted approximately 15 minutes, ended when the police teams blocked the road at the Nevşehir junction on the Aksaray-Ankara highway. The vehicle was stopped, and driver Ö.F.K. and his friend in the car were taken out. The two children were detained and taken to Aksaray Training and Research Hospital for a health check.
381 THOUSAND LIRA FINE
While the statements of the children taken to the police station were being recorded, driver Ö.F.K. was fined a total of 381 thousand lira for various violations such as "not complying with the stop warning, swerving, running a red light, driving without a license, and drifting."
Additionally, a judicial investigation was initiated against Ö.F.K. by the Aksaray Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. His father's luxury car was also banned from traffic for 4 months and towed to a parking lot with the help of a tow truck.
