After İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay joined the AK Party, attention turned to the next metropolitan municipality that would change parties. While AK Party Deputy Chairman Hasan Basri Yalçın's statement "There is a metropolitan municipality next" aroused curiosity, journalist Sinan Burhan claimed that Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Büşra Özdemir could switch to the AK Party by the end of November.
After İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay put on an AK Party badge, new joinings in local administrations came to the agenda. Statements from the AK Party administration also increased the expectation that a party change could be experienced in another metropolitan municipality.
AK PARTY DEPUTY CHAIRMAN YALÇIN: NEXT IN LINE IS A METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY
AK Party Deputy Chairman Hasan Basri Yalçın, stating that there would be new joinings to the party, said, "Our President said our door is open, we are waiting. I won't give a name, but a metropolitan municipality is next in line. God willing, we will see it as soon as possible."
Yalçın's not sharing the name of a municipality or mayor brought along debates about which metropolitan municipality would experience a change.
SINAN BURHAN ANNOUNCED THAT METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY
Journalist Sinan Burhan, sharing backstage information on the issue on tv100 broadcast, claimed that the name expected to join the AK Party was Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Büşra Özdemir.
Burhan said, "I obtained backstage information that Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Büşra Özdemir will switch to the AK Party."
ALSO GAVE A DATE
Stating that he spoke with political circles and local press representatives in Antalya, Burhan said he also established contacts with sources from different parties.
Arguing that the information he obtained was reliable, Burhan also gave a date for the possible joining, saying, "In terms of timing, it was stated that she could switch by the end of November at the latest."
No official statement has yet been made regarding the claims that Büşra Özdemir will switch to the AK Party.
