It has been claimed that the US administration gave Iran advance notice of the Operation Freedom Project, launched for the passage of commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz, to which Tehran reacted by issuing threats, and called on Iran not to interfere with the operation.

The US administration allegedly informed Iran about the Freedom Project launched regarding commercial vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

"CONTACT ESTABLISHED WITH TEHRAN BEFORE THE OPERATION"

According to a report by the American Axios news platform, based on a US official and a source familiar with the matter, the Trump administration established contact with Tehran regarding the Strait of Hormuz.

The report claimed that a senior Trump administration official informed Iran on Sunday about the US operation initiated to "escort commercial vessels of neutral countries through the Strait of Hormuz" and warned Tehran not to interfere.

The report, which did not include information about which channels were used for the communication, stated that this step reflected the White House's desire not to further escalate tensions with Iran over the Strait of Hormuz.

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine stated that Iran's attacks on some commercial vessels escorted by US ships through the strait were "insignificant" and that the ceasefire continued.

TENSIONS IN THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ

It was reported yesterday that Iran targeted a US Navy vessel, which was attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz and was said to have endangered maritime traffic near Jask Island, with two missiles.

Details about the Iranian military's targeting of the US Navy vessel were shared in a report by Iran's semi-official Tasnim News Agency.

The report noted that the US vessel had shut down its radar while attempting to approach in the Strait of Hormuz and was detected when it turned on its radar.

It was stated that Iran sent warning messages to the US vessel about "violating the ceasefire," and when the vessel ignored the warnings, the Iranian military fired warning cruise missiles, drones, and rockets around the vessel.

The US Central Command, however, claimed that allegations of Iran attacking a US warship with two missiles were unfounded.
