Yesterday, the fugitive construction supervisor Yiğit Aykurt, who was arrested and detained in connection with the death of Dorukhan Büyükışık found at a construction site 8 years ago in the Narlıdere district of Izmir, was also arrested. While the incident was recorded as 'suicide,' the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office reopened the case, and a lawsuit was filed at İzmir 21st Criminal Court of First Instance against commissioners Atakan Kaçar (44), Deniz Asıcı (36), police officers Duygu Öztürk (35), Fikret Sarıaslan, Halil Arslandağ (55), Musa Erikçi (55), assistant commissioner Hüseyin Vurucu (49), and Narlıdere Police Station Chief İsmail Köksal (59), demanding up to 1 year in prison for 'abuse of office.'

In the continuation of the investigation, an indictment was prepared against Hüseyin Kaya (69), Hulusu Aras (77), Tayfun Çakmakçı (41), who worked as guards at the construction site, worker Bilal Çelik (47), and guard Ali Gülbaşı (77) from a nearby area, demanding aggravated life imprisonment for 'intentional killing.' The indictment also included information that the death may have occurred after the victim was struck in the back with a hard and blunt object, and then the body may have been moved to the specified location. The indictment was accepted by the İzmir 21st Heavy Penal Court. While both trials were ongoing, the files were consolidated. The trial of 13 unarrested defendants continues at the İzmir 21st Heavy Penal Court.

DETENTION ORDER FOR 26 SUSPECTS

Under the coordination of the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a detention order was issued for 26 suspects. Teams from the İzmir Provincial Gendarmerie Command TEM Branch Directorate, assigned by the Terror and Organized Crimes Investigation Bureau, launched simultaneous operations in 9 provinces centered on İzmir on May 21. A total of 23 suspects, including construction company owners, police officers, and workers, who were subject to detention orders, were taken into custody.

ALL ARRESTED

After the statement procedures at the İzmir Provincial Gendarmerie Command TEM Branch Directorate, the 23 suspects, including Tanyer Construction Company partners Mehmet Münir Tanyer and his son Mehmet Taylan Tanyer, former Narlıdere Police Chief İsmail Yalçın, former Narlıdere Police Station Chief İsmail Köksal, Crime Scene Investigation Bureau Chief Atakan Kaçar, and Group Chief Commissioner Hüseyin Vurucu, were arrested after being referred to the courthouse.

Field engineer and construction supervisor Yiğit Aykurt (34), for whom a capture warrant had been issued and who was considered to have been a fugitive abroad for some time, was captured and taken into custody yesterday in an operation by teams from the Provincial Gendarmerie Command. It was learned that the suspect was identified and captured during his entry into Turkey.
