In İzmir Narlıdere, in the investigation regarding Dorukhan Büyükışık, who was found dead at a construction site in 2018, fugitive construction supervisor Yiğit A. was caught and taken into custody. In the incident, 23 suspects had previously been arrested.
The son of retired Major General Ethem Büyükışık, Dorukhan Büyükışık, was found dead on May 13, 2018, at a construction site near his home. While the incident was recorded as 'suicide,' the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office reopened the file, and a case was filed against 8 police officers involved—Commissioner Atakan Kaçar (44), Commissioner Deniz Asıcı (36), Police Officer Duygu Öztürk (35), Police Officer Fikret Sarıaslan, Police Officer Halil Arslandağ (55), Assistant Commissioner Hüseyin Vurucu (49), Narlıdere Police Station Chief İsmail Köksal (59), and Police Officer Musa Erikçi (55)—at the İzmir 21st Criminal Court of First Instance, seeking up to 1 year in prison for the crime of 'misconduct.'
TWO CASES CONSOLIDATED
In the continuation of the investigation, an indictment was prepared against Hüseyin Kaya (69), Hulusu Aras (77), Tayfun Çakmakçı (41), who worked as guards at the construction site, worker Bilal Çelik (47), and nearby guard Ali Gülbaşı (77), seeking life imprisonment for the crime of 'intentional homicide.' The indictment also included information that the death may have occurred after the victim was struck on the back with a hard and effective tool, and the body may have been moved to the specified location. The indictment was accepted by the İzmir 21st Heavy Criminal Court. While both cases were ongoing, the files were consolidated. The trial of 13 unarrested defendants continues at the İzmir 21st Heavy Criminal Court.
DETENTION ORDER FOR 26 SUSPECTS
A detention order was issued for 26 suspects under the coordination of the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Teams from the İzmir Provincial Gendarmerie Command TEM Branch Directorate, assigned by the Terrorism and Organized Crimes Investigation Bureau, launched simultaneous operations in 9 provinces centered in İzmir on May 21. Among those with detention orders, construction company owners Mehmet Münir Tanyer, Mehmet Taylan Tanyer, former Narlıdere District Police Chief İsmail Yalçın, former Narlıdere Police Station Chief İsmail Köksal, Crime Scene Investigation Bureau Chief Atakan Kaçar, Group Chief Commissioner Hüseyin Vurucu, police officers, and workers were apprehended. Within the scope of the operation, 23 suspects were taken into custody.
ALL ARRESTED
After their statements at the İzmir Provincial Gendarmerie Command TEM Branch Directorate, 23 suspects, including Tanyer Construction Company partners Mehmet Münir Tanyer and his son Mehmet Taylan Tanyer, former Narlıdere Police Chief İsmail Yalçın, former Narlıdere Police Station Chief İsmail Köksal, Crime Scene Investigation Bureau Chief Atakan Kaçar, and Group Chief Commissioner Hüseyin Vurucu, were arrested.
CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR IN CUSTODY
A new development occurred in the investigation. Yiğit A. (34), a field engineer and construction supervisor who had an arrest warrant and was considered to have been a fugitive abroad for some time, was caught today in an operation by teams from the Provincial Gendarmerie Command and taken into custody. It was learned that the suspect was identified and apprehended while entering Turkey. Efforts to capture the other 2 fugitives continue.
