A young couple in Maharashtra had to carry the lifeless bodies of their two sons on their shoulders for 15 kilometers due to the lack of an ambulance in the area. A video showing the couple passing through a muddy forest road with their sons' bodies went viral on social media. According to reports, the two children succumbed to fever as they couldn't receive timely treatment. The couple carried their children's bodies from a hospital in Gadchiroli region to their village, which is 15 km away. The incident was brought to attention by Congress Party leader Vijay Wadettiwar. The Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Assembly shared the couple's video on microblogging site X and said, "The couple is from Aheri district in the Gadchiroli region. They are seeking passage through a muddy road, carrying the 'lifeless bodies' of both siblings on their shoulders. The two siblings were suffering from fever but couldn't receive timely treatment. Their condition worsened within a few hours and both children lost their lives within an hour." "Even to transport the bodies of the two young children to their village Pattigaon, there was no ambulance available and the parents had to walk 15 km on a muddy road while getting wet in the rain. The bitter reality of Gadchiroli's healthcare system has once again come to light today," he added. Wadettiwar pointed out that Devendra Fadnavis, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, is the Guardian Minister of Gadchiroli, while Dharmarao Baba Atram from the NCP is the MLA from Aheri constituency and the FDA Minister in Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's government. "Both of them claim to be working towards the development of the state by organizing events across Maharashtra. They should come down to the field to see how people are living and the death rates there," Wadettiwar added.
