New details have emerged in the investigation into the deaths of siblings Gülşah, Muhammet Ali, and Belinay Sakar, whose bodies were found lifeless in the sea in the Darıca district of Kocaeli. While the preliminary autopsy determined that all three siblings were intoxicated and, according to initial findings, died by drowning, police are investigating the possibility that one of the siblings fell into the sea and the others entered the water to rescue them, as well as the possibility of a collective suicide.
New details have emerged in the investigation into the deaths of siblings Gülşah (24), Muhammet Ali (17), and Belinay Sakar (15), whose lifeless bodies were found in the sea in the Darıca district of Kocaeli.
3 LIFELESS BODIES WASHED ASHORE
On August 20, at around 16:00, three corpses were found washed ashore at Kazım Karabekir Mahallesi Darıca Sahili. The bodies were removed from the water by the summoned teams. The examination determined that the bodies belonged to siblings Gülşah, Muhammet Ali, and Belinay Sakar. The siblings, who were clothed and showed no signs of assault or injury, were taken to the Gebze Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy.
LAST IMAGES OF THEM WALKING TO THE SHORE
In the multi-faceted investigation, security camera footage of the moments when the siblings walked to the shore was also added to the file. The footage shows the three siblings walking together towards the shore on Eski Hükümet Caddesi at 03:49. In the recording, Gülşah and Belinay Sakar are seen walking arm in arm, with Muhammet Ali Sakar walking beside them. It was determined that the other sibling, B.S., was asleep at home during the incident. It was reported that when B.S. woke up around 08:00, he realized his siblings were not home and went out to look for them.
PRELIMINARY AUTOPSY REPORT DETERMINED THEY WERE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL
In the preliminary autopsy report, it was noted that one of the siblings had bleeding in the ears, considered to be pressure-related, and traces of blood in the nose. Initial findings recorded that the cause of death was considered to be drowning, and no knife or gunshot wounds indicating assault or struggle were found on their bodies. It was also learned that all three siblings were found to have been under the influence of alcohol.
CLAIM THEY HAD FAMILY PROBLEMS
According to information obtained in the investigation, it was claimed that the siblings' parents were divorced and they had family issues. It was also alleged that the siblings had told some people around them that they wanted to leave the house where they lived with their mother. It was stated that the siblings were not very outgoing, generally spent time together, and were successful in their education. It was learned that Ali and Belinay were high school students, and Gülşah had been accepted into a law faculty this year. It was also learned that the family's elder daughter had died by drowning in İzmir Çeşme in 2016.

As part of the investigation, statements were taken from the mother, Güler Saltan, and the other sibling, B.S. Information was also obtained from the siblings' relatives and individuals who may have had knowledge of the incident.
CELL PHONES BEING EXAMINED
Police teams have also taken the cell phones and other digital materials belonging to the three siblings into examination. Through digital analysis, they aim to uncover details about who the siblings communicated with before the incident, their messages, and their last movements.
CAMERAS BEING EXAMINED
Police teams, trying to unravel the mystery, are continuing their work to determine the route the three siblings took from the moment they left home and the point from which they reached the shore. The teams have begun examining the security camera recordings from around their home, the streets on the route, and along the coastline.
Police teams are considering the possibility that one of the siblings accidentally fell into the sea under the influence of alcohol, and the other two may have entered the water to rescue him. However, the possibility that the three siblings committed suicide together is also not being ruled out.
