The Panama-flagged commercial dry cargo ship M/V Lady Zehma, which was the target of two separate attacks while crossing the Black Sea near Ukraine's Odessa port on July 21, 2026, made its passage through the Bosphorus today. The general cargo ship, measuring 172.9 meters in length and 29.4 meters in width, continued its voyage after the attacks it suffered in the Black Sea, reached the Bosphorus, and completed its passage without any issues.
DOUBLE ATTACK CARRIED OUT THREE HOURS APART
In the incident confirmed by the ship's operator GN Group Corporation, the general cargo ship was first subjected to an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attack at around 08:30, and three hours later, at 11:30, a missile/rocket attack was carried out. The 173-meter-long bulk carrier, which survived great danger, had a total crew of 22, including 19 Azerbaijanis, 1 Turk, 1 Ukrainian, and 1 Egyptian, all of whom escaped the attacks without injury, and no loss of life occurred. As a result of the consecutive attacks, structural damage occurred in one of the cargo holds, on the hatch cover, and in deck areas, but M/V Lady Zehma managed to maintain its own propulsion power (engine). The damaged ship, which did not cause any marine pollution or harmful leakage to the environment after the attack, continued its operational course and passed through the waters of the Bosphorus today.
