After this date, old licenses will become invalid, and specific documents will be required for renewal. Drivers who have not renewed their licenses will face a fine of 12,000 TL.
In a statement made by the General Directorate, it was announced that the deadline for renewing driver's licenses issued before January 1, 2016, is December 31, 2024, and that after this date, old driver's licenses will be invalid and the renewal will be carried out at the normal fee rate.
PENALTY OF 12,000 TL
It was warned that drivers who do not renew their old type driver's licenses by December 31, 2024, will be fined 12,000 TL. In a statement from the Ministry of Transport, it was stated that after this date, old type driver's licenses will be invalid. Citizens need to apply to the population directorates to complete the necessary procedures.

- Identity document
- Old driver's license
- Recently obtained driver's health report
- 2 biometric photos
- Receipt for valuable paper and fee amount
- Document or written statement indicating blood type
- Criminal record certificate (Checked from the system)

- The fees for those who want to renew old type driver's licenses are determined as follows:
- Old type driver's license renewal fee: 15 TL
- New type driver's license renewal fee: 769 TL
