In the Erdemli district of Mersin, it was revealed that the driver of the minibus carrying agricultural workers who were going to pick tomatoes, which resulted in the death of 4 people and injuries to 14 others, did not have a driver's license. It was learned that a person who was initially considered dead in the accident was revived after a pulse was detected and was subsequently intubated.

The accident occurred around 06:40 at the Kargagediği Arkıt location between Erdemli Güzeloluk and Sarıkaya neighborhoods, known as Avgadı Plateau. According to the information received, the minibus with license plate 33 VLP 55, driven by 19-year-old Cemal K., fell into a ditch of approximately 10 meters after the rotation shaft broke, causing the driver to lose control of the steering wheel. Upon notification from witnesses of the accident, fire, medical, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene. Expressing his condolences and providing information about the accident, Governor Toros stated, "A traffic accident occurred around 06:40 in the Arkıt area of Sarıkaya neighborhood, which is part of our Erdemli district. A minibus carrying our agricultural workers rolled down from approximately 10 meters. 4 of our citizens lost their lives at the scene, and 14 of our citizens were sent to hospitals. We are closely monitoring our injured. May our heads be held high, it is an extremely tragic accident."

Meanwhile, after the prosecutor's examination at the scene, the bodies were taken to the district state hospital morgue.
